ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Musical Releases

1)The Ex-Min Fleet’s Maxi Single titled “The Culmination”

2)Formed a group called “The Dreaded” within the Ex-Min Fleet with fellow artist and cousin WildChild and released a self-titled Maxi Single.

3)A compilation album aptly named “Slappage” hosted by DJ Cipher of Example/The Kracker Nuttz DJ group and producer and engineer of Houston Rap Group "Example"

4)Along with Mavrek and Mynus the other 2/3s of Flow Factory aka DoubleF  released "Texas Chainsaw Masquerade” in 2005.

5)Flow Factory aka Double F along with the production of the amazing team known as The Roux released a full length album appropriately named "SP to LP" in 2020.

6)Gutter the Movie Soundtrack

BigRuk of DoubleF has since and continues to release music because it is not a hobby or a job for him. It is a way of life.

Theatrical Accomplishments

Big Ruk has been casted in several stage plays throughout the years and most recently, multiple plays by Playwright Angela Rice such as “Jesus the Goodtime Charlie” and “Bloodstained Banner”. He starred and co-starred in several short movies and independent and student films. Devin “Big Ruk” Wilburn was also casted in a few full-length feature films titled “GUTTER” which was released on Amazon Prime and Tubi and reined as #1 movie on Tubi for several weeks. He was in 10 Reasons Men Cheat, Double Kill and Guns Down. Ruk has also written and acted in several of his own theatrical works of art including a few award winning short movies written, directed and starred in along side his business partner and very close friend Lavelle Lemonier. They together formed DTA Dream Team Alliance Movie Productions LLC. They have won several awards for short films like The Basement and Transitions. DTA also wrote directed, produced and appeared in a full length Holiday movie titled A Very Bayou Holiday on most major streaming platforms. 

Degrees and Knowledge

Devin Big Ruk Wilburn has received an Associate's Degree in Audio Engineering and Production from Houston community College. Along with many years of learning from peers, trial and error and self-study, he also has well over 2 decades of experience in audio engineering and recording prior to attending school for his degree.

Getting to know  “Big Ruk”

BigRuk started rhyming in the 7th grade when he and a few close friends won first place in a school talent show with the first rap he ever wrote. It was a story about Jonah and the Whale. The applause they got and the feeling he received was enough to alter the course of his life forever. He had found his path. He lived it as much as possible never stopping and always looking to get better and better and studying whatever rapper that caught his ear as unique and skillful. He battled on the streets, in school lunch rooms, in random aisles in grocery stores or wherever the opportunity presented itself. Originally Known as Fresh-D, he saw an X-MEN cartoon in the early to mid 90's that featured a villain by the name of Ruckus that used his voice to cause destruction. D felt the cartoon was speaking to him because being highly influenced by Marvel and DC comics, he always viewed his ability to rap as his super power or in this case mutant ability. He then chose the moniker Rukus to replace the out dated Fresh D. His circle started calling him Ruk for short and the Big eventually came from being the tallest of all the emcees in his squad. From there along with his partner in Rhyme at the time Elijah Grand (whom also changed his name to Nemisis Enforcer from G.I. Joe) changed their entire crew to be called the EX-MIN Fleet. And so birthed the journey and love afair with HIPHOP music that has defined the larger part of his life. BigRuk is a proud father of 5 beautiful and talented daughters. Ruk wishes to continue to learn and grow as well as bring his knowledge to the younger generation first and foremost, then to anyone who wants to learn. He wants to reach and connect with the world through his music, through acting, Media and whatever mediums he can utilize. Rukus would also like to collaborate with others in order to create more opportunities for up-and-coming artists and businesses.
